1. What personal achievement are you most proud of?

I look at where I am today as the personal achievement that I am most proud of. I am originally from England where I lived for the first 21 years of my life. I graduated from university in 2015 and I have been living in Australia on my own ever since. It was never part of my ‘plan’ and it definitely has not been easy. But I am now 26 and have been down under for five years. I found my dream job in which I had no previous experience in and now just over three years later I’d say I’m doing pretty good and still have the opportunity to learn more every day and progress.

2. What’s your favourite drama serial?

My favourite drama serial is ‘Gavin and Stacey’, a British comedy television show written by James Corden and Ruth Jones. It follows the relationship between Gavin (from Essex) and Stacey (from Wales); a love story that stems from everyday life. Its simple nature and relatable dramas keep the viewers coming back. But you may need tissues! It’s my go-to show when I’m feeling happy and it’s my go-to show when I’m feeling sad – it always cheers me up!

3. If you had to delete all but three apps from your smartphone, which ones would you keep?

I would keep some sort of messaging so I can stay in contact with my friends and family around the world, photos because memories are so valuable and my bank app.

4. What does a perfect vacation look like for you?

My perfect vacation would involve three key things – a tent, a beach and my loved ones. I grew up spending any time I could camping on the beach in Cornwall, England. (Who goes camping on a beach in England? I know right!) I find something so simple, peaceful and beautiful about camping and being by the ocean. No WIFI, mobile signal or other electrical appliances. I can just completely turn off and enjoy the world with the people I love around me.

5. What’s your go-to productivity trick?

An early wake-up call! I am a true believer that waking up even an hour earlier than usual significantly increases my productivity. I mix up this hour differently each day. Sometimes I will go to the gym or go for a walk! And even if I don’t feel like getting up and going out, even getting up early to watch the news is a great option for me. Surprisingly waking up earlier gives me MORE energy – give it a go!

6. What do you enjoy most about working in events?

There are A LOT of reasons why I enjoy working in events!! I think the thing I enjoy the most would definitely be the people. It’s great and very fulfilling to work in an industry where everyone is so passionate, constantly strives for the best and has the same common goal – the best for our customers. It’s also great to work for an industry that benefits SO MANY people – something that I was totally unaware of when I first joined; from exhibitors, visitors, organisers, stand builders, venues and other contractors, to hotels, airlines, cafes, restaurants and more.

7. What opportunities do you have to develop your talents at RX Global?

I have lots of opportunities. Before working at RX I had no experience in the software that I use nor had I even attended an exhibition. I have already come so far and I still have opportunity to progress. I feel very lucky to have colleagues and managers that not only support me in my day-to-day job responsibilities but also allow and encourage me to express my opinions and take lead on my ideas – challenging me and subsequently developing my talents every day.
