From hello to hired

Hiring isn’t just about filling roles - it’s about finding the right people to grow and thrive together. At RX, we take a thoughtful, inclusive approach to attract top talent who vibe with our NIMBLE strengths.

With that in mind, we have laid out our hiring process to help you map out your hiring journey.
Exploring new opportunities

Once you’ve taken some time to focus on what you’re looking for, you can get a better idea of who we are, what we’re about, and what it’s like to work at RX.

Our goal is for you to feel like you know us a bit better, and that you’ve got enough information to feel like you’re applying for the right jobs.

You can checkout our about us page. View our YouTube channel and explore our locations.

Dive into our blogs and how we care for our RXers, communities and environment. The goal here is the job or jobs you land on should exist at the intersection of who you are and who we are. So go, click around for a bit. We’ll meet you back here.

You should now have a better sense of who we are and what part of the company and role seems like the best match for where you want to go.

Begin the process

We encourage you to focus on the roles that truly excite you and match your skills, rather than applying to lots of jobs all at once (we get it, it’s tempting, but it usually isn’t the best approach). It’s all about quality over quantity - trust us, it makes a difference.

Once you have found a role for you and applied, keep an eye on your inbox - we'll send you through a confirmation email via Workday, where you can also check the status of your application at anytime.

Sidenote: Not getting a role can often be a matter of timing, rather than a reflection of your skills or qualifications. So if things don’t work out with your first application, don’t let that stop you from applying to other roles in the future.

Exploring the fit

If someone from our Recruiting team thinks you could be a great fit for the role you applied for, we’ll invite you to join our hiring process.

While the experience may vary a bit depending on the role or team, the core of our hiring process stays pretty consistent - whether you’re applying for a tech position, a marketing role, an internship, or a leadership opportunity. Not every step below will apply to every role, but here are some of the ways we get to know candidates:

Short virtual chats
To start things off, you’ll typically have one or two shorter conversations, usually by phone or video. These are often with a recruiter and then with the hiring manager or a potential teammate. These chats help us get a better sense of your skills and give you a chance to learn more about the role.

Interviews
We care a lot about our interviews - not just because they help us learn about you, but because they’re your opportunity to get to know us, too. Our interviews are designed to be thoughtful and welcoming. We will usually ask you to come into your local office for a 45-minute to 1-hour face-to-face session, we love inpersion chats but we appreciate that it might not be best for everyone - so let your recruiter know if theres anything we can do to make the process smoother.

Project work
Sometimes we’ll ask candidates to complete a brief project - anything from a short case study to a writing sample or coding task. These are designed to show us how you think and approach challenges. Don’t worry - we’ll always give you plenty of notice and context if this is part of your process.

We focus on a few key things to make the process consistent and supportive for everyone:

  • Structured interviewing: Everyone interviewing for the same role is evaluated using the same rubrics. This helps ensure a fair process and allows each candidate’s unique strengths to shine.

Need accommodations?
We want every candidate to have the support they need. Our recruitment team is happy to help with accommodations - whether it’s extra time, breaks between interviews, or specialised equipment. Yuo can reach out to your recruiter directly or you can drop us an email at accomodations@relx.com or fill out our confidential Applicant Support form.

Wrapping things up

Once your interviews are wrapped up, we’ll gather all the details from your application and chats to take a close look.

We’ll walk you through the next steps and give you some space to review everything.

From finalizing your start date and drafting your contract to outlining your benefits and launching your onboarding journey - we’ll take care of the details. After that, you’re officially on your way to becoming an RXer. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome you aboard!

It depends on the role. If you’re on one of our event teams, you’ll need to be onsite during the event and might travel occasionally to visit customers or check out other events throughout the year. For those in central functions, there are sometimes chances to head onsite and help out with local events too. Plus, since we’re a global company, there’s always the possibility of travelling to meet with teammates from other locations. Your hiring manager will be able to give you more information on the travel requirements for the role.

Some of our offices do! Reach out to your local office’s HR team through the contact details on their website to learn more or keep an eye on our latest job opportunities.
