The Festival that replaces São Paulo International Auto Show is part of the city of São Paulo Calendar of Events and will be held in August 6-14 at Interlagos race track.

Fenatran (postponed last year due to the pandemic) resumes its traditional format at São Paulo Expo from November 7-11 with pioneering digital projects.

São Paulo, March 28, 2022 – On Monday, ANFAVEA (National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers) and RX (Reed Exhibitions) signed a contract to hold this year's São Paulo Motor Experience at the Interlagos racing circuit from August 6-14. This new event concept replaces the traditional format of the former São Paulo International Auto Show.

On the same occasion, they signed the renewal contract to hold Fenatran, the largest transport and logistics trade show in Latin America. Postponed last year due to the pandemic, the event has been confirmed for November 7-11 this year at São Paulo Expo, with innovative projects and digital formats intended to expand the scope of the exhibition.

The contract signing took place at ANFAVEA's headquarters, with the presence of top executives from both entities, including the President of the Association, Luiz Carlos Moraes, the Global President of RX, Hugh Jones, the President of RX, Claudio Della Nina, and the President of RX Americas, Fernando Fischer.

“Over the last three years, ANFAVEA studied the topic, visited several international events, including CES in Las Vegas, and finally arrived at a more attractive format for the associated car manufacturers, in economic terms, and especially for car enthusiasts, who will get much more than just a static exhibition of vehicles. The São Paulo Motor Experience, as the name implies, will provide a range of experiences for visitors and their families, including the chance to close deals at the event itself,” highlights Luiz Carlos Moraes, President of ANFAVEA.

“We are going to hold the biggest and best automotive festival in history in Latin America's most important automobile temple, offering the public with a variety of experiences with automotive brands. The event should inject more than BRL 300 million into the city's economy and generate more than 20,000 direct and indirect jobs,” Claudio Della Nina, president of RX, estimates.

SPMXP launches a new auto event concept

SPMXP has many brands that have reserved space to exhibit and interact with the public, estimated at 750,000 visitors. The pits at the race track will be used for the exhibition of the latest trends and are fully reserved for this year's edition of the event. The participating brands will be announced shortly.

The festival has become part of São Paulo's Calendar of Events and is the only automotive sector event in the calendar of strategic initiatives that celebrates the city's tradition, and that can greatly impact the local economy, among other important benefits, for which it has the institutional support of the São Paulo Municipal Government.

The concept created by the organizers allows for completely innovative actions to bring brands and products to visitors, with different kinds of activations, besides the pits. The cars will go to the Interlagos race track, not only to the well-known racing circuit, but also to five other tracks especially designed for the São Paulo Motor Experience: Off-Road Track, SUV Track, UTV Track, Drifting/Drag Racing Arena and the New Tech Track (for demonstrating technological innovations).

Organizers expect to reach the mark of 60,000 test drives over the nine days of the event, with the potential to hit 100,000 test drives if you add the exclusive morning activities and other modalities. In addition to generating an unprecedented proximity with potential customers, the exhibiting brands can also do business at SPMXP. There is also a specially designed arena for this behind the pits, providing an opportunity for visitors to purchase vehicles directly.

The event provides a number of spaces to explore the future of mobility, such as the Tech Arena, the E&A Arena (for presentations and demonstrations of new technologies such as electric and autonomous cars) and the Mobility Arena (with the chance to test-drive other electric vehicles, such as bikes and scooters). There are also plans for the E-Sports + Lab Tech Arena, a Music Festival (with live shows), Cine Drive-In, Ferris wheel and hot air balloon flights.
